about me
My name is Luke Connolly. I am a student at Colgate University, set to graduate in May 2009 with a double-major in Music and Philosophy. In my freshman year of high school I studied darkroom photography and fell in love. I had taught myself basic HTML and web design, and after creating a portfolio of my pictures I decided to design a website to showcase them. As I expanded my photography portfolio, my desire to improve the quality of my website grew, and I began to enjoy the design side of my work.
At the beginning of my sophomore year at Colgate I was hired as the photography intern for the Communications Department. I take pictures of school events, lectures, and campus life for publications such as a monthly alumni magazine called the Colgate Scene, the school's monthly photo galleries, and the front page of the Colgate website. I was recently fortunate enough to get press credentials to cover the Dalai Lama's visit to Colgate, which drew a crowd of over 5,000.
In the summer of 2007 I worked at The Business Software Alliance (BSA) in Washington, DC, as the Online Communications Intern. In addition to updating new press releases and documents to the BSA website, I designed graphics for the website and designed the layout for many documents such as the company's 2008-2012 strategic plan, powerpoint template, in-house E-Newsletter template and more.
